①仕事内容／Job Responsibilities

事業に対してインパクトの出るデータサイエンティストは主に以下の４つの重要な作業をこなします。
1. 仮説立てとROIの概算：事業の人との話し合いや資料を読むこと、実際にサービスを使ってみることで事業のビジネスモデル（例えば楽天トラベル）を理解し、UX(User experience)を描く。お客様の観点から現状のビジネスの問題点や改善可能な点を見つけ出す。それらに基づき、行動変容の仮説を立てる（何をすればお客様によりサービスを使ってもらえるようになるのか、ということ）。それらの課題を解決した際のROI（return of investment)を概算する。
2. 分析：ビジネスインパクトの大きい課題を、分析。具体的な解決策に落とし込む（例えばリターゲティングメールや、ある条件化における価格設定最適化）。
3. 検証：機械学習や顧客理解のフレームワークを用い、問題を解く（例えば決定木やSVMによるターゲット顧客の推定）。テストマーケティングや機能のA/Bテストにより、事業（CVRや売り上げ、顧客満足度といった各種KPI）が改善されたかを検証する。
4. 仕組み化：証明された解決策をスケールさせるために汎用な形にする。自動化するためにスキームを考え、開発できるような形にしてエンジニアに引き渡したり、場合によっては自分で実装する。

Data Scientists do the following four important works
1. Hypothesis creation and calculations of ROI : by talking with people in business unit, reading documents and experiencing the services (such as Rakuten travel), data scientists need to envision the ideal user experience(UX). From customers' perspective, data scientists find out the issues and improvable points about the business. Based on these findings, he or she creatively come up with hypotheses for behavioral change--how customers start using and enjoying the services. Data scientists come up with the business/marketing strategy that will test the hypothesis, and calculate the return of investment (ROI) for the successful implementations of the ideas.
2. Analysis: Analyze the issue, using various statistical analysis such as regression or logistic regressions and machine learning algorithms such as decision trees and/or SVM. Turn the solution for the issue into more concrete actions such as retargeting email or price optimization under certain conditions.
3. Test : Implements test marketing by working with team members and business units. Through A/B testing of functions etc, confirm the testing result by measuring various Key Performance indicators such as CVR, sales, or customer satisfaction levels.
4. Shikumika: After the test, create the scalable framework for extending the good results. Create the scheme and either hand it over to engineers to develop or develop the system himself/herself.

統計、機械学習、プログラミング、マーケティング、学ぶ速さ、のどれか一つに秀でていること。
