Job Description
Candidate will support the 787 Program by acting as the Dreamlifter Operations (DLO) site leader at the Central Japan International Airport, (Centrair) in Nagoya, Japan. DLO operates a fleet of 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter (LCF) aircraft and unique ground support equipment responsible for transporting 787 production articles to final assembly sites in the USA. This vital team member will oversee and manage all Japan-based activity and infrastructure unique to DLO and critical to the 787 supply chain.

Daily operations will include, main deck and lower lobe cargo management, coordinating daily deliveries and transfer of 787 Production Articles to/from the Dreamlifter Operations Center, (DOC) and management of dedicated Boeing facilities and equipment. Communication and coordination amongst multiple suppliers, contractors and DLO staff based in the USA are key to this position. Candidate will be required to work with all Boeing heavy manufacturing partners, Japan’s Commercial Aircraft Corporation, (CAC) airport and prefecture officials, Japan customs as well as the airline contracted to operate the LCF fleet.

Management and administrative skills required to be successful include: Advanced communication abilities, contract development and analysis, technical writing, schedule integration and stakeholder coordination, problem solving skills, creation and monitoring of performance metrics and evaluation of sustaining operations for safety and efficiency gains.
Candidate will be required to assist with providing access to visiting Boeing and contract service teams that will perform periodic visits to the DOC. Candidate must also be able to qualify / operate a forklift, (training will be provided). As a member of the Dreamlifter Operations Organization, this position will require regular reporting and teleconferences to USA based team members and periodic travel several times per year, (10% of the time).

THIS REQUISITION IS FOR A ONE YEAR RENEWABLE CONTRACT AS AN INTERNATIONAL, LOCALLY HIRED PERSON. Contract extension will be based on candidate performance and business requirements. IT IS NOT FOR AN EXPAT ASSIGNMENT. Benefits and pay are determined in line with local country labor market practices. Qualifications:
- Candidate must be proficient in both Japanese and English language utilization, (speaking, reading, writing, providing translation) and be familiar with airline cargo operations and regulatory requirements.
- Background in the logistics / freight forwarding industry is also acceptable.
